Mike Burns has been writing songs and singing with a number of bands since 1999.  From the Southeast to the Midwest, Burns began recording his first 7 song demo entitled “Intros.” His solo approach to his craft began in Tulsa, OK playing at coffee shops and bars all throughout 2002. Settling in Southern California in early 2003, Burns teamed up with Non-Profit Organization “Soundtrack of the Unheard” encouraging young teens on the streets to express themselves artistically and to offer them a creative outlet to embrace who they were. The exposure of working with those artists introduced Burns to JP Hesser, Owner and Sound Engineer of Castaway7 Studios in Ventura, CA. The two immediately built a bond and Hesser became Co Producer on Burns’ first two formal releases: "Where The Heart Is" (2006) and “The Dreamworld EP" (2008). From 2006 to 2009, Burns heavily invested himself into the music scene in Los Angeles, performing at countless bars and venues, charting in various local competitions and touring nationwide.

In early 2009, Burns relocated to Austin, TX to further pursue his music endeavors. It was there he finally discovered his sound and niche and partnered with Matthew Slaven and Will Lindow releasing various singles and two full-length albums: "Courage & Longing" (2010) and "Chapter Twenty-Seven" (2012). Austin, TX was a pivotal time for Burns, teaming with local artists, gaining residencies at top venues, performing SXSW each year, working with multiple firms for song placement for radio and film and touring regionally as well as numerous times in the North East. Before venturing east in 2013, Burns connected with Omar Vallejo at 512 Studios and released two singles on iTunes "Awful" and "Said & Done."

Burns now resides in Louisville, KY and is working on his next solo release.
